You will receive reminders then a final notice if you do not pay council tax that is due. Find out more.

If you receive a reminder, you have not paid your instalment on or before the day it is due.
If we don't receive the requested payment within 7 days of the date of the reminder, after a further 7 days you will lose your right to pay by instalments and a summons will be issued for the entire year's bill without any further notice.
If you receive a second reminder, you have not paid another instalment within 7 days on or before the day it is due.
If we don't receive the requested payment within 7 days of the date of the reminder, after a further 7 days you will lose the right to pay by instalments and a summons will be issued for the entire year's bill without any further notice.
No further reminders will be issued throughout the Council Tax year.
A final notice is sent when you have received and paid 2 reminders, and have fallen into arrears for a third time. The final notice is issued demanding the entire balance for the year.
If the entire year's balance is not paid within 7 days a summons will be issued.

It is the liable ratepayer's responsibility to pay their Council Tax bill on time. We are not able to stop the reminder, final notice or summons process if you have a problem with receiving your post - you must still make payment. Please note we cannot send final notices or summonses by email.
