The full electoral register lists the names and addresses of everyone who is registered to vote in public elections.
The full register can only be used for:

You can view the full register (under supervision) at the council, the British Library, or the Surrey History Centre in Woking.
To view the electoral register at the council’s Civic Centre, please make an appointment by contacting electoral@elmbridge.gov.uk. Fifteen-minute appointments are available Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 4:30pm.
If you want to check if someone is registered, please email electoral@elmbridge.gov.uk.
The open register is an extract of the electoral register, but is not used for elections. It can be bought by any person, company or organisation. For example, it is used by businesses and charities to confirm name and address details.
Your name and address will be included in the open register unless you ask for them to be removed.
To ask for your details to be removed or to check if you are included on the open register, please contact electoral@elmbridge.gov.uk.
Removing your details from the open register does not affect your right to vote.
When you opt out of the open register, your details will still appear on the full version.
To be on the electoral register you must register to vote.

The use of the personal data in the register must always be processed in line with data protection legislation.
