Information about in memory benches and dedication plaques, and how to apply.
You can apply for memorial benches or dedication plaques in Elmbridge.
The application process for In Memory benches is open between 1 October and 31 March every year. If you have previously made an application outside of these dates, it will be dealt with in due course. Please bear with us while we work through the applications in date order.
In memory benches are:
All new or replacement benches can be fitted with an in memory of plaque.
New benches can accommodate up to 5 plaques (except historic benches, which can only be used to display a single plaque).
We will always try to accommodate your request. If this isn't possible on an existing bench, we will look for an alternative as close as possible to your original request.
Plaques are made of stainless steel, with black inlay wording and 4 screw holes. They will be a maximum size of:
You will be able to discuss with us the wording and font size best suited for your dedication plaque.
We have lots of benches in green spaces across Elmbridge and where possible we will provide a location to install a replacement or new bench.

The installation of benches and plaques can take up to 6 months due to demand, material availability and manufacturing. We will keep you updated with progress.
